Zone6 Cycling was founded in 2019 by Steve Whittington-Coleman, a former GB international cyclist and Olympic squad member, with a mission to share his passion for cycling—both through high-performance coaching and unforgettable cycling holiday experiences.
Steve’s racing career was marked by exceptional talent—at one point, he held the fourth-highest tested power-to-weight ratio in Great Britain (tested by Peter Keen in February 1991), at just 17 years old. He was on track to compete in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona when a serious racing accident abruptly ended his Olympic dream. A lifesaving operation resulted in the loss of a section of his left lung, changing the trajectory of his athletic journey.
After a determined recovery, Steve returned to competitive racing, riding in France with the prestigious Vendee U team under Jean-René Bernaudeau. By the end of 1993, the physical limitations from his injury led him to retire from professional competition.
Today, Steve channels his love of cycling into coaching and creating memorable cycling holiday experiences for riders of all levels. His passion for sunny, scenic rides naturally drew him to Mallorca—Europe’s cycling paradise. In 2024, Zone6 expanded with the launch of Zone6 Cycling Holidays, offering guided rides, and immersive cycling adventures on the island and in mainland Europe. Whether you’re chasing personal performance goals or simply seeking the joy of exploring beautiful roads by bike, Zone6 Cycling Holidays delivers the perfect blend of training, exploration, and fun.
